Win streak reaches five
By: KAEDENCE BRISCOE
The Cougars baseball team are on a hot streak. With Tuesday's win over Molina, the Cougars have won 5 games in a row placing them at #2 in district play. Their record is now 5-3.
Luke Malone was a major force in the game vs Molina. After his terrible performance on the mound against Sunset, he really stepped up and put on a show in relief. He had 6 strikeouts in 3 innings and went 3/4 at the plate. Also, Anthony Rodriguez had another great offensive game. He went 4/4 with one of those hits being a 2 run homer.
The Cougars are cheering for Woodrow to beat Adamson this Friday which will place B.A. in 1st place in district while they are hot.
The season only has 4 games remaining and the Cougars need to win them all in order to assure the 1st place spot and move on to the playoffs. From now on every game is do or die for the Cougars.

“This year the district has been challenging, however I know the baseball team can
drop teams and earn their place in the top three teams in district,” said Coach Enriquez.
AJ Espinoza pitched well against North Dallas having 8 strike outs. AJ is also one of three sophomores on the varsity squad.
“I can do good, but I know I can do better and practice more on things to strive and do better the next time to face them and beat them,” he said.
In addition, Jose Castillo had 3 big hits in the game leading the team to victory. Castillo is also the only freshman player on varsity and keeps improving each game.
“I had to keep the game going in extra innings so my big hits were to try and bring Anthony in to score runs,” said Castillo.
