Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children
By: Kimberly Lopez,11
If you're looking for a creepy, intense book to read then Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children is the book for you. This book is about an abandoned orphanage on a mysterious island. A death in the family takes 16 year old Jacob on a journey that he will never forget, no matter how hard he tries. Jacob finds the orphanage crumbling down, but still decides to explore the mysterious building in order to find the answers to his questions that have not been answered since he was a child. In there, he discovers that the children that used to be there we not as normal as he thought.
I never thought that a book like this would ever cross my path but I'm glad it did. Not only was this story mysterious, but it was also creepy! While reading this story, there’s a sense of mystery that makes you want to keep reading to find out more about the children and Ms.Peregrine. Adding pictures to it made it a whole lot better. You could be imagining a less disturbing image in your head but when you see the picture for that moment it creeps you out! Yes, some pictures look somewhat fake but that's the reason why it's so creepy. This book is also very magical.
The peculiar children have some type of powers that separates them from being normal human children. These children use their powers in ways that benefit them in the time loop they are forever trapped in. Thinking about being trapped in a loop for eternity is very scary to think about, so kudos for the author for thinking of such an idea! If you are a big fan of mystery, abandoned houses, and weird children then I highly recommend you to read Ms.Peregrine's home for peculiar children. You will not regret reading about Jacob and his quest to find the answers for his long, unanswered questions.
