Living in the moment

By: Leslie Miranda, 12

The BA Belles had their showcase Friday February 17th at the Lincoln HS gym.

The Belles showed all of their competition routines from their modern, hip hop, and pom. Every dance they showed was unique. The hip hop showed a message about the power of women. The Belles wore a white button up with a hot pink tie and one of the Belles held a sign saying “women suffrage”.

Their modern dance was based off the stranger things theme song and the Belles wore all black and used a grey cloth as a prop throughout their dance. In the beginning of their dance Kelly Corzo, one of the officers, was featured in a stunt she was standing on top of several girls and fell straight back. That seem to catch everyone's attention.

Furthermore, the captain, Jennifer Cruz, showed her solo wearing a red flowy outfit and used a drawing of a men as a prop. Towards the end she ripped that paper in half.

The gym was filled with students and parents supporting the Belles before their big competition. All their hard work and coming in early and Saturday practices pay off.

The belles got overall grand champions at their competition.
