Season Overview

The BA Cougars soccer season has come to an end and overall the Cougars had a great season. The cougarsfinished district in 1st place as district champions with a record of 11-2. The cougars had clinched a spot in playoffs to be knocked out by the Midlothian Panthers with a score of 3-1. 

 

The Cougars had many great games but one was where they had dominated the North Dallas Bulldogs with a score of 7-0, in which senior Rodolfo Vieyra had bagged an impressive hat-trick in that game. BA Cougar Rodolfo Vieyra has also been able to appear on top scorer list in the D-FW with 11 goals scored. He also ended as top scorer for the cougars in this season with 11 goals.

 

Another great performance by the cougars happened not too long ago against the Seagoville Dragons, where they dominated the game with a score of 8-0. Another quite outstanding game was up against Molina Jaguars with a win of 6-0 for the Cougars. The cougars also defeated rivals Woodrow Wilson in a score of 3-1. All of these stats are the reasons the BA Cougars had a really great soccer season. The  cougars look to stay focused and humbled for next soccer season to come in which they will be able to do even better than their season of 2016/2017 as the new players come in and move up to represent the cougars.

Playoffs

The BA Cougars soccer season has come to an end and overall the Cougars had a great season. The cougars finished districts in 1st place taking the title of district champions with a record of 11-2.

Vieyra has also been able to appear on top scorer list in the D-FW with 11 goals scored. Vieyra had also ended as top scorer for the cougars in this season with 11 goals. A quite outstanding game was up against Molina Jaguars with a win of 6-0 for the Cougars. The cougars had also defeated rivals Woodrow Wilson in a score of 3-1.

 

Cougars v. Adamson 

The BA Cougars defeated Adamson HS 4-2. With the Cougars marvelous team work and strategic skills, they were able to out beat Adamson high's strong defense. Martin Gonzalez, team captain, pumped up his teammates like any ordinary game.

 

The Cougars were up first half with a lead of 2-0, both goals scored by Ronald Rosales. Rosales scored on the 10 minute mark of the game with a demanding shot from the 20 yard line. Adamson's defense fell of the first half, which cause Rosales to score another goal from a corner kick. Rosales headered the ball which was kicked by Ronaldo Saldana. The kick was directed towards Rosales, which he later headered it, with the end of the half winning goal.

 

With Adamson's aggressive comeback in the second half with 2 goals from outside the box, the Cougars came back with 2 up striking goals by Eduardo Pacheco and Martin Gonzalez. The first goal the Cougars scored in the second half was scored by Pacheco which was passed by Saldana. The pass glided through players and in the feet of Pacheco, which later went in the goal.

 

The second goal, scored, was by Gonzalez. Gonzalez scored a knuckle back goal which curved in the goal post, Gonzalez easily passed defenders from the opposing team which made the goal.
