Cougar Cowboy

Many people just know me as a football player, joker and all around good guy. But what they probably don’t know is that they have a real life cowboy at hand. A Dallas cowboy!

Since I was 10 - 13 years old have been to over twenty rodeos and have been involved in several other rodeo events. To be involved in a rodeo is one of my favorite things to do. It is fun to be part of the events but I also enjoy being in the stands watching everyone else instead of being in the back, trying to focus on my upcoming performance.

Performing in bull riding is very exciting. It takes lots of work to master. Riding a bull isn't easy. It requires concentration and patience combined with strong muscles. Riding a bull is also extremely dangerous and potentially life threatening. The bull’s wild kicks can hit you in one of your organs leaving you with external, and in severe cases, internal injuries.

I enjoy and have attended many parades riding my trusty horse, “Black Girl”, who has been with me for 6 years. Being in a parade is fun.  One of the best parts is seeing all the people and their happy faces. The only downside to most of the parades is that to be there at 8am I had to be up around 5 or 6 in the morning. This allowed me to get up on my horse and lined up though the parade didn't start till noon on most days. Overall, it was worth it and I would recommend the rodeo experience for anyone.
