Culinary Arts chefs bring guests

This week BA Culinary Arts students prepared a meal for a guest. They choose an entree from their menu that they completed from two weeks ago. They had to work in pairs and create a menu for a restaurant.

The culinary arts students schedule with Mr.Lockely to let him know what day they wanted to cook. The day that students cooked, they quickly gathered all of the utensils and ingredients that they needed for their dish. The cooks only had one hour to prepare and cook their meal.

“I was under pressure because of the time limit and the rice didn’t cook as we wanted to,” said Keahjanee Cole.

Once the student chefs finished their dish, they served their guests drinks followed by the main entree just like a restaurant would. Students were rewarded with satisfied looks from their guests and many received compliments.

“Mr.Watts said that he liked the Pina Colada and our grilled chicken quesadillas were delicious,” said Melissa Perez.
