On Thursday, October 23, BA (3-5, 2-3 District) faced the North Dallas Bulldogs (1-7, 0-5 District) at Forester Stadium.  The Cougars got the win with a 42-14 blowout.

It was a balanced game for the Cougars as they threw 3 touchdown passes and had had 3 rushing touchdowns. They started out dominating the game with two early scores in the 1st quarter. One with a pass from quarterback Brandon Santana to Darius Rice for 18 yards and the other with a 9 yard run from Jalen Stallworth.

The defense was solid keeping North Dallas scoreless throughout the 1st quarter. The Cougars’ offense wasn’t done yet. They had two more scores late in the 1st quarter. One was a 35 yard run by Jimmy Odie.  The other was a bullet from Brandon Santana to Eddie Reese for a 50 yard score.

“It was a simple read. Eddie just simply beat the defender on an island and allowed us connect on the pass,” said Santana.

In the second quarter began the offense continued to roll as Jalen Stallworth scampered in to score from the 4 yard line.

The Bulldogs were still scoreless late in the 2nd quarter as BA scored again with a 61 yard pass from Santana to Nathan Stewart.

By halftime the Cougars work was done. They had hung 42 unanswered points on North Dallas as the hapless Bulldogs failed to put even a field goal on the scoreboard.

The Dogs came to life a bit in the second quarter as they faced the Cougar 2nd and 3rd string defense. They managed to put 14 on the board before the game ended.

The Cougars must still face Thomas Jefferson and their neighborhood nemesis Woodrow Wilson before their playoff situation is clarified.
