When I first met Justin Alexander it was the day of cheer tryouts and I already knew that he was one of a kind. He came in with colorful hair and full of energy, and I immediately knew that he was going to be my friend.

Justin is the only male cheerleader on the BA spirit squad. There have been very few male cheerleaders at BA and Justin  has brought a lot to the team in the form of strength, spirit, confidence and attitude.

Coach McIntyre appreciates his presence on the team and overall contribution.

“Justin Alexander is a confident individual… as far as Justin’s cheering, he has excellent showmanship and is clean in his execution and movements,” she said.

“I really love cheerleading. It has been a very big deal in my life since it’s my senior year in high school,” he said.

With his exuberance for dance/cheer he brings a high level of skill to the team. He has much needed strength that improves the stunts and overall look and style of the team.

“I am glad to have his fun, entertaining personality, as well as his high skill level and commitment,” said Coach McIntyre.

I hear people saying unkind things about Justin, stereotyping him being a cheerleader, but he doesn’t let it bother him he still goes on about his life and continues to do what he loves. He is the type of person who takes a negative comment and turns it around to people saying something very positive about him cheering.

“You know, I could not care less about what people say about me… people talk every day and you are going to have a couple of people that hate but I don’t care,” he said.

Justin is a really great dancer. You might catch him busting a couple of moves out of nowhere. He wants to open up his own dance studio one day to help others to pursue their dreams.

“I am really passionate about dancing. Dancing is life and I can’t see myself doing anything else,” he said.

Justin Alexander is very comfortable is his role as BA's only male cheerleader. Cheering gives him a chance to work on his dance moves. "Dancing," as he says, "is my passion."
