Dance the night away
Prom provides a night full of good times and memories
By SAMANTHA MORALES, 12
On Saturday evening, May 9th the Prom finally arrived to end the anticipation of over 350 BA students. Everybody seemed to have a blast, whether going all as a SQUAD or with their date. The venue is usually different every year and 2015 was no exception. The Prom was held at “eM the Venue” in Dallas’ Design District.
“The venue was really pretty and I loved that there was a photo booth,” said Senior Cecilia Hernandez. “But my favorite part was spending time with my date and dancing with him.”
“The place was really awesome. I like the decorations and how it was organized. I had a good time with all my friends being goofy!” said Senior Reyes Garcia.
Coach Morrow, as with so many other senior events, planned and organized the dance.
”I GOOGLED venues and looked and looked and looked until I found this one,” she said.
A DJ provided the music and by the looks of the dance floor he seemed to satisfy all the varied musical tastes. Even so Coach Morrow always sees ways to make things better.
“I think next year I will have a preferred music list that kids can put songs on to give to the DJ ahead of time,” she said.
There was a photo booth that kept people busy all night as they entered the booth for multiple “fun shots.” Food was provided for those who had not already dined for the evening and later ice cream was brought out to the enjoyment of all in attendance. An interesting feature of the evening was the opportunity for the revelers to try their hand at the gambling tables. Although no real money was wagered, a break for Black jack, provided a respite for those weary of dancing.
Overall, Coach Morrow should feel successful.
"I think it went fairly well,” she said. “The kids seemed to have a good time and they looked AWESOME. I LOVED the photo booth and casino tables,” she said.
