On April 17 BA had its annual talent show. The doors of the auditorium opened at 7:00. The enthusiastic crowd of students, family and fans filled about half the venue. Fifteen acts of singers and dancers competed for first, second and third prizes.

Carlos Campball took first place with a hip-hop dance to an extensive mix featuring hip hop and techno. Second place went to a group made up of Ab Cienfuegos, Aurora Balderas and Fladio Sanchez called The Cienfires.  They performed a song and dance act to a well-known Mexican standard.  As  Ab sang the lead, the others acted out the lyrics through dance. Third place went to The Perezees consisting of Eva and Melissa Perez. The two non – related performers sang and danced to If I Aint Got You by Alicia Keys.

Although not all of the acts took home an award the crowd all had their favorites

“My favorite act was Christian Nava, because he brought his heritage to the stage and he hit the high notes. I did not know he can sing like that,” said Alex Trejo, 12.

At the end of the evening the BA Choir performed for the audience. The BA varsity orchestra ended the show a rendition of Hanging Tree from the Hunger Games.

“The whole evening was entertaining,” said senior Samantha Morales. “I laughed as I watched them perform, but in a good way.”
