The Big Move

When I transferred from Roma HS in Texas to BA school had already started. Roma is a small town south of Dallas normally in a place called the valley. Roma is so small that if you blink you will miss it. People call it “El Ranchito” (The Little Ranch). There isn’t much to do there. Most people go to Rio Grande City (RGC).

Roma is a place where people hang-out at McDonald’s that opened maybe 4-5 months ago and at Whataburger after Friday night football games or just to get out. Last year the varsity football team made it to play-offs. Also, the band is the 2nd best in the valley. This past year I was a part of the band and I made All-State. The band has made it to the U.I.L State Marching Contest 7 consecutive years and this year will be the 8th.

Before BA I have been to two other different high schools, Roma HS and Rio Grande City HS (Rio HS). Both great schools but the students are not as nice as students here at BA. As a matter of fact people in Dallas are nicer. When I moved here the was a couple having trouble with their car and students from the high school down the street helped them and the people offered money for their assistance and the students didn’t accept it. Within the first week I was here three girls helped me, they are Elizabeth Monzon 10th grader, Denise Flores 10th grader, and Elizabeth Mendoza 11th grader. These girls have made my month here at BA so much easier making me feel welcomed, and helping me around with classes and questions I have. Here at BA it is so much different because of the block schedule and C, A, B days.

Since I have been at BA I have been involved in football games, band competitions. Band here is interesting because it is just so different from my previous experience. Other than that everything is going good hope to make this year and GO COUGARS!!!
