January 14 2015 Pinkston and Molina invaded Cougar territory for a wrestling match. All the Cougar wrestlers won all their matches without any struggle.

 

126. (Junior) Sei aung 11-5

Wrestled two times -  one from Molina and the 2nd from Pinkston he won both of his matches with a pin in the first period.

 

138. (Junior) Luis Molina 10-5

Wrestled twice as well from Molina and Pinkston both of his matches ended in a pin the first period.

 

182. (Junior) Isiah Johnson 14-3

Isiah was challenged by a 270 heavy weight from Molina and pinned him in the first period without breaking a sweat. Then he was challenged by a 195 from Hillcrest and pinned him in the 2nd period with all the energy he had left to win.

 

220. (Senior) Alexis Trejo 2-0

Won both of his matches with a pin in the first period. The first match ended with a cradle. The second match was won with a power half then turned into a half nelson for the win.

 

 

 

Destroying enemy territory

 

The wrestling cougars visited Adamson on January 21st and this is what happened.

120 Senior. Khalil walker wrestled once and won with a reverse half nelson with his record 10-4

 

126 senior. Jacob Lopez wrestled two times he won his first match with a cradle and his second match was a challenge wrestling out of his weight class of 126 to a 138 and he won his match with a half nelson. 15-3

 

132 Junior. Sei Aung wrestled two times and won botch his first match with a half nelson and the second won by points and lasted all 3 periods.  13-5

 

138. Junior. Luis Molina wrestled twice and won both of his matches by points and lasted all 3 periods in both of his matches. 13-6

 

182. Junior. Isaiah Johnson wrestled twice and won both of his matches the first one with a half nelson and the second with a gator roll. 16-3

 

285. Sophomore . Kenneth Reyes wrestled once and lost by a half nelson. 3-10

 

 

 

Wrestling at Districts

 

On February 6th and 7th Districts for wrestling were held at Loos stadium. There were 18 schools that participated in the tournament. Bryan Adams send 9 Wrestlers to the tournament and 6 of the wrestlers became Regional qualifiers.

 

120 Senior. Khalil walker finished second in the tournament and also a regional qualifier.

 

126 senior. Jacob Lopez placed second in the tournament also a regional qualifier

 

132 Junior. Sei Aung placed 3rd in the tournament also a regional qualifier

 

138. Junior. Luis Molina placed 1st in the tournament which makes his district champ also a regional qualifier.

 

160. Junior. Alex Browing was eliminated in the tournament and placed 5th and was unable to challenge 4th place for a shot to make it to regionals because he already wrestled 4th place in the tournament.

 

170. Juinor. Marco Fajardo was eliminated in the tournament and placed 6th.

 

182. Junior. Isaiah Johnson finished the tournament third place in the tournament his lost was by Kimball High School by points.

 

220. Senior. Alexis Trejo finished fourth in the tournament winning both of his matches on the first day on the second day came up short in points on the first match on the second day the second match won by points 17 – 9 and for third place lost by a pin.

 

285. Sophomore . Kenneth Reyes was eliminated in the tournament and did not place.

 

On February 13 the cougar wrestling team left school at 5:45 AM to Frisco High School to compete in the Regional tournament. The Regional qualifiers were Khalil walker class 120, Sei Aung Class 132, Luis Molina class 138, and Isaiah Johnson class 182. Also Jacob Lopez class 126 wasan’t able to compete for injury problems and Alexis Trejo class 220 other problems happening.

 

 120 Senior. Khalil ended the year with a record of 15-4

 

126 senior. Jacob Lopez ended the year with a record of 19-4

 

132 Junior. Sei Aung ended the year with a record of 18-4

 

138. Junior. Luis Molina ended the year with a record of 20-8

 

160. Junior. Alex Browning ended the year with a record of3-2

 

170. Junior. Marco Fajardo  ended the year with a record of2-2

 

182. Junior. Isaiah Johnson ended the year with a record of 23-7

 

220. Senior Alexis Trejo ended the year with a record of 6-3 Came late in the season

Wrestling season is now over and it was coach cheese last year coaching. This will be a year he will not forget.
